If you’re a fan of multiplayer games like Fortnite or PUBG, you’re probably already familiar with the concept of an “early access” game. These games are released to a specific group of players with the code and the alpha/beta testing phase often only lasting a few days, or sometimes weeks. But recently, a new genre of early access games has emerged: the battle of the bands. These games are played over an internet connection, and typically feature a variety of music-themed games that use a combination of live instruments, pre-recorded music, and/or vocal tracks. And soon, a new contender will be joining the fray: Battle of the Bands Early Access.
Deep Silver’s upcoming brawler Battle of the Bands is a game that will capture the hearts and minds of fans of music-based combat games. Featuring a roster of 64 playable characters, including two guest characters, the full game includes a story mode, quickplay and multiplayer game modes, as well as multiplayer challenges.
The first wave of BOTB:EA will be arriving on PC and Mac on February 27th, 2014. If you’re already looking forward to the game release date, you’ll be happy to know we have some new updates for the game, including new characters, new options, and so much more.
The Living Tombstone has announced AudioClash: Battle of the Bands is a free-to-play, competitive rock music video game that will be available on Steam Early Access later this year. AudioClash: Information about Battle of the Bands has been revealed to IGN. The game is being developed by independent studio Big Boat Interactive in collaboration with gaming industry legend Scott Miller, who previously worked on games like Duke Nukem, Wolfenstein 3D, Prey and Max Payne. AudioClash: Battle of Bands features five fictional characters, or as the game calls them, Tombson, including Zero-One, Rust, Tesla, Armstrong and Doc. They were all created by producer-composer Yoav Landau and singer-songwriter Sam Haft. AudioClash is known for creating music for video games, but now the band has created its own video game. In AudioClash : In Battle of the Bands, players can choose a band manager and put together their own band with rock stars summoned from time, space and alternate realities. In the game, you can mix sound elements from rock, metal, punk, pop and EDM into a set of songs that reflect the musical movement, and you can play your hand against those of your opponents. Here are some more details about the game:
- Fight through multiple rounds, each influenced by skill cards played in between. Increase the singer’s health regeneration, allowing the lead guitarist to use his attack power. Set your bassist up to perform an Ultimate Attack tidal wave, and turn your drummer into a support tank with spare shields. After a few moments of critical decisions, the round begins and each group comes on stage to perform, taking and inflicting damage according to their abilities.
- At first, you can collect and use hundreds of skills, with lots of tactical twists. Explore even more advanced strategies by placing props on stage and arranging band members to take advantage of the effects of battles on the ground. Rock out with countless options to customize your character, from unusual hairstyles and outfits to enhanced instruments, surreal band mascots and more.
Producer-songwriter Yoav Landau said: Video games are not only a source of inspiration, they are an integral part of The Living Tombstone, from the music we make to the Tombstone we make. That’s why we turn to AudioClash: Battle of the Bands with the importance and care of each musical release. Our fans and gamers in general deserve incredible entry-level value with hundreds of hours of free content. Big Boat Interactive CEO Mike Arkin added: The opportunity to work on a project with a partner like The Living Tombstone doesn’t come along every day. The creative collaboration between Sam, Yoav and our team allowed us to combine gameplay and music in a totally unique way. Scott Miller also commented: As a drummer, I am very happy to work on a musical beat. The idea of fighting musicians is timeless and awesome, but it’s also creatively challenging because my games are always about shooting down villains and alien invasions. I don’t know what that says about me. AudioClash Closed Beta: The Battle of the Bands is already open, and if you’re interested, you can register now to guarantee your selection. The game should be played in the 3rd quarter. The game will be released in early access for PC via Steam in the fourth quarter of 2021.
