Best Beat Saber ’80s Custom Song Map Mods –

Beat Saber is a rhythm-action game that uses one hand to play music from the other. It is an action platformer with colorful visuals and bright colors, but it has been relatively easy to create custom songs for this title as of late due to its rich audio library. In fact, there are now over 500+ song mods available on Steam Workshop!

Beat Saber is the best game of 2018 if you ask us, but it’s a shame that some maps seem to be missing from its library. This list contains custom songs created by passionate Beat Saber players and music lovers with an 80s beat. If you want your favorite song to become a part of the official map pack here are steps on how to do so!

Beat Saber is a game that has tons of custom songs. The “Best Beat Saber ’80s Custom Song Map Mods” are the best maps for playing on. There are also some other great mods that you can use to make your game even more fun.

It was difficult to distinguish between “outlandish” and “cool” in the 1980s.

The music they created followed a similar idea, with large hair, bright clothing, androgynous stage personalities, and all kinds of oddities.

Everything was full of synth and avant-garde, nearly future music that, strangely, sounded old to the current ear.

Nonetheless, it was a golden period for the medium’s originality. Artists were attempting to create rather than imitate, which resulted in timeless masterpieces that speak to us even after 40 years.

Let’s hop in the DeLorean and go back to the 1980s to list some of the finest custom-mapped Beat Saber tunes.

David Bowie – Ashes to Ashes

Take a listen to this song

During the 1980s, David Bowie was a big influence, and Ashes to Ashes is one of his most famous songs.

This song is a culmination of what I’ve just said.

It’s strange, full of unusual and unique noises you’ve never heard before, and it’s still as fantastic as it was 40 years ago.

Given how many people like David Bowie, there is a distinct shortage of David Bowie tracks mapped for Beat Saber. I’m overjoyed that this is one of the handful that made it into the game.

Nena – 99 Red Balloons

99 Luftballons – published in English as 99 Red Balloons in 1994 – is the best anti-war song I’ve ever heard.

Nena was a member of the Neue Deutsche Welle, a new music genre created in West Berlin during the Berlin Wall’s construction.

As a result, they were more than aware of the reality of the Iron Curtain, and their disdain for it is reflected in the song’s lyrics.

Despite the song’s fairly sad lyrics, I adore how peppy and full of exuberant energy it is.

I would have given it a higher rating if it had been the German version – not even the band was pleased with the translation – but the English version’s mapping is much superior.

Whitney Houston – I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)

Take a listen to this song

Whitney Houston was one of the biggest music stars of the 1980s.

“I Wanna Dance With Somebody” was her fourth straight number one single in the United States.

Unlike 99 Red Balloons, which is more political, this song is intimate and passionate.

It’s about finding that one person who’s willing to spend every day of your life dancing the night away with you.

At the same time, it’s incredibly quirky and super romantic. It’s about loneliness, but instead of making you want for love, the song makes you want to go out and find that special someone.

Laura Branigan – Gloria

Gloria is the way to go if you’re searching for an 80s tune to get you in the mood to slice and dice at breakneck rates.

Gloria by Umberto Tozzi was originally written as a love song in Italian, but Laura Branigan’s rendition is about a girl who never takes a break in any element of her life.

While playing Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which is full of fantastic 80s melodies, I fell in love with the song.

It’s one of the first music available for your in-game collection, and while singing along, I managed to take quite a few enemy bases.

6. A-ha – Take on Me

Take on Me by A-ha, released in 1985 and becoming the band’s lone chart-topping hit, was another amazing 80s song I listened to on repeat while riding a horse across Afghanistan.

The song is a mash-up of synth-pop sounds and other instruments.

Its distinct atmosphere continues pushing it back to the forefront of public consciousness thanks to films and games like Deadpool 2 and The Last of Us 2.

Another reason we still like this song is because of its ageless lyrics, which are all about seeking love and not letting chances pass us by because we’re afraid of failing.

5. Bon Jovi’s Livin’ on a Prayer

Bon Jovi, an American rock band, has a number of hit singles.

None, however, were as well-known and influential as Livin’ on a Prayer.

This song is the anthem of the working man and woman. It’s a song about those who spend their lives with the hope of a brighter future.

People who are running together into an unknown future in which only their love and support for one another is certain.

You’re probably not trying to make ends meet if you’re playing Beat Saber on your own VR headset, but we all have challenges, and this music will help you relieve the tension of striving for a brighter future.

4. Michael Jackson’s Thriller

Halloween is always on the corner for some of us.

Thriller is a timeless terrifying hymn that, regardless of the date on the calendar, will take you to the scariest night of the year.

This is particularly true in Beat Saber’s VR setting.

The surrounding world vanishes as you put on the headset, leaving just you and Michael Jackson’s Halloween hymn.

We’ve all attempted to master the Thriller dance movements at some point in our lives.

This map, on the other hand, will boost your performance to new heights.

Note blocks, walls, and explosives are all strategically placed to have you moving like Michael Jackson.

3. Playlist from Little Shop of Horrors

Check out this playlist inspired by the popular 1986 musical film Little Shop of Horrors, which is based on a 1982 musical comedy, which is based on another film from 1960.

Just thinking about it makes me dizzy.

Although it isn’t the most traditional entry, this dark comedy is nothing short of brilliant, and it has received widespread acclaim since its premiere.

There are several wonderful musical passages in it, such as “Dentist” and “Suddenly, Seymour,” which you can listen to all of in this fantastic playlist.

2. Rick Astley – Never Gonna Give You Up

Please accept my apologies for rickrolling you.

I grew up in the 1990s. I couldn’t stop myself!

Aside from the jokes, Rick Astley’s most recognized song has an undeniable charm.

I may have discovered about it due of the meme, but I still listen to it on repeat because it’s so catchy.

This music gives me a nostalgic feeling that I can’t get anyplace else.

And this song will make you want to dance like Rick Astley in the hit music video. You’ll never want to leave Beat Saber until you’ve mastered this tune.

Toto, Toto, Toto, Toto, Toto, Toto, To

Africa – Toto Beat Saber screenshot

Take a listen to this song

Who doesn’t adore Toto’s Africa?

It’s been seen in memes, on TV, and in video games.

Though not new, the song is a Millennial anthem. Since its debut in 1982, when it reached the top of the American and worldwide charts, it has remained very popular.

Since January 2019, a solar-powered sound installation in the Namib Desert has been playing the song 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That’s what I mean when I say timeless!

I’m hoping you’ll keep it on repeat for Beat Saber as well.
