The Best Questlines in Old School RuneScape (Ranked) –

To many people, RuneScape is one of the greatest games of all time, if not the greatest. The game’s quest system holds a lot of memories for many of us who played the game. It was not just an addition to the game, but an integral part of the experience. In this questline, we will take a look at the best quests in the game, with the one we deem to be the best taking the top spot.

With the release of the new content update, we thought we’d take a look at the best questlines in the game, most of which have been updated to be RuneScape’s first in-game questlines to be fully voiced, and hopefully introduce a little variety to the questing experience.

It’s been a while since I’ve last written anything for this blog (if I’m being honest, I’ve never even written a coherent sentence here), but I’ve been very busy with other things, so I thought I might as well start a new blog entry. As a result, I thought it’d be fun to do a little bit of a list and rank my personal favourite questlines of all time.

The basis of what makes OSRS such a great game is quests.

The mythology is really well done, and it’s a lot of fun to be a part of it. There are other missions that require you to kill dragons, combat vampires, participate in huge battles, and even assist trolls in falling in love.

To put it another way, there’s something for everyone who seeks adventure.

Despite the fact that there are hundreds of quest lines, certain of the OSRS missions are particularly well-done and deserve special attention. These are quests with really engrossing tales, significant stakes, and well-written dialogue.

And we’ll list the most famous ones right here, many of which contain some of OSRS’ most difficult missions. Specifically, the difficult grandmaster missions, of which there are only three in the whole game!

5. The Dragonkin Chronicles

This series is one of the earliest quest lines, and that’s where it all begins!

There are only three quests in the Dragonkin series. Dragon Slayer I, a Tale of Two Cats, and Dragon Slayer II are the games in question.

The series is about heroes defending the world from an ancient danger known as the Dragonkin, who are strong dragon-like foes intent on conquering all in their way.

You and a few strong friends are the only ones standing in their path of total dominance.

The quest line concludes with Dragon Slayer II, a Grandmaster mission in which you will face OSRS’s most difficult quest monster.

And you’ll watch yourself accomplishing something that every explorer fantasizes about:

Slaying dragons and rescuing the day are two of my favorite things to do.

It has to be the game’s most epic quest line, and it leads to the formation of two guilds: the Champions’ Guild and the Myths’ Guild.

Gnome Series No. 4

Gnome Tree Saved Quest in OSRS

The questline for the gnome series consists of four quests:

Monkey Madness I, Eyes of Glouphrie, and Monkey Madness II are the first three installments in the Monkey Madness series.

In this series, you’ll collaborate with the Gnomes, explore new islands far away, and even convert adversaries into new friends.

You’ll acquire strong new weapons and battle tough enemies along the way (of course).

It’s also riddled with mysteries and riddles that only the most intrepid explorers will be able to solve.

The quest line concludes with Monkey Madness II, a Grandmaster mission that is not for the faint of heart.

Prepare for a crazy journey that may get a little ridiculous at times, but it will never be dull!

3. The Elf Chronicles

Elf Questline Preview from OSRS

This is arguably the most difficult and longest series on the list.

This series consists of eight missions in all. And, as one would expect, there’s a lot of lore to be found!

You’ll be working on this quest line for a long time since the missions vary from beginner to grandmaster.

Basically, you’ll be doing everything you could think of in Old School RuneScape throughout this narrative, from researching a disease to completing tough light puzzles and battling monsters in between!

You’ll also be able to explore Tirannwn’s crystalline elven lands, as well as numerous cities and passes.

However, be prepared for a difficult period. As four of the quests in the series are master level, with the last one, Songof the Elves, unlocking the elven city of Prifddinas, being grandmaster level.

This questline is recommended for those who want a more serious and lore-heavy experience.

2. Fremennik Collection

Fremennik Questline Battle in OSRS

So here’s another lengthy quest line with eight separate tasks.

The Fremennik missions are considerably simpler than the elf quests, but I find them to be much less serious and far more fun!

You’ll still be fighting monsters and solving riddles, but the missions have a lighthearted tone to them, as well as a fantastic Viking aesthetic that makes you fall in love with them.

You’ll have a blast investigating these people and missions along the way, from large-scale invasions to defeating a seasoned drunkard in a drinking match.

In this series, there are only two master quests: Dream Mentor and The Fremennik Exile, both of which provide great prizes.

Myreque Series No. 1

Myreque dungeon preview quest / OSRS

The Myreque questline is without a doubt my all-time favorite quest series.

It has excellent aesthetics and a feeling of optimism in an otherwise dismal circumstance; everything about it is enthralling.

You’ll be working with the Myreque, a Morytania-based human rebel organization, to organize the people against their Vampyre rulers, who exploit humans as a food supply.

The series now consists of five quests:

Darkness of Hallowvale, A Taste of Hope, and Sins of the Father are all books about Myreque.

The sole master level quest in the series is Sins of the Father, although the questline is still active as of this writing.

You’ll be battling an almost indestructible foe that can’t be wounded or killed in order to liberate the villagers.

It’s a fantastic series full of narrative twists and interesting difficulties.

If you haven’t begun this series yet, I strongly advise you to do so as soon as possible.

You’re about to go on an exciting journey!

There are many ways to play a game. There are those who love questing, those who like PvP, there are those who want to gather resources and those who love exploring.
